IF YOUR STUDENT IS ILL

They must remain home if they have one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Fever (100.0 degrees F or greater) and/or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

They must remain home and isolate as if they have Covid-19. Students may return with a negative PCR test, fever free for 24 hours without medications, and with improvement of symptoms.

IF YOUR STUDENT HAS TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

Please contact the school nurse to report your case. Your student must remain home and follow the quarantine procedure:

  •  10-day quarantine: 10 full days at home, return on day 11. No further testing is needed.
  •  5-day quarantine: 5 full days at home, return on day 6 UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
  1. Evidence of a negative RAPID test taken on day 5 or later (or the day before the return day if after 5 days)
  2. Commitment to wear a tight fitting mask at all times (N95, cloth mask & surgical mask combo, surgical mask with tied ear loops, etc.) for the duration of the 10 days
  3. Commitment to eat/drink/pull mask down at a distance of 6 feet or greater from other people for the duration of the 10 days.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Day 0 is the first day of symptoms or the day the test sample was taken, whichever is earlier
  • Testing centers are in high demand, and PCR results are taking 4+ days to be returned.
  • You may quarantine your student if you choose to not test. Quarantine is for 10 full days from the onset of symptoms returning on day 11 without the need to provide any test result. This is an acceptable course of action, and due to the difficulty testing, is sometimes the easiest and safest.
  • At home rapid tests are being accepted for early return days (day 5 or later after a positive result).
